National Night Out Calkins Square Barn August 2, 2011
Turn on your porch light, spend the evening outside and join your neighbors for supper
On Tuesday, August 2nd from 6-8 p.m. Wyoming is invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “28th Annual National Night Out” and Wyoming’s 4th NNO, crime prevention event. National Night Out is sponsored by Wyoming Area Betterment and Jones County Safe and Healthy Youth Coalition.
National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; Generate support for, and participate in, local anticrime efforts; Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
From 6-8 p.m. on August 2nd, residents of Wyoming are asked to turn on their porch lights and spend the evening outside with their neighbors.
Appearances by the Jones County Sheriff’s Department, Midland Ambulance, Wyoming Volunteer Fire Company, Little Eagles Nest Learning Center, Wyoming Pioneers 4-H and The Jones County Safe and Healthy Youth Coalition. There will be free hamburgers/hotdogs, watermelon and lemonade. Bring a covered dish to share and your own table service. Line up at the barn grounds at 5:45 for the bike parade. There is a prize for best decorated. There will be games for the kids.
