MOWING NOTICE CITY OF WYOMING

 

Grasses, weeds, brush, dense growth shall be kept at a maximum of 6’’ in residential, business and industrial property and 12” in agricultural property from May 1st to October 31st.

Property owners have six (6) days within which owner may cause the work to be done.   No other notice will be given before the city will abate the nuisance and shall assess all costs incurred to the property.

The property owner has the right to appeal the matter to the City Council under Section 50.08 of the City Code of Ordinances.

 

Open Burning March 15—June 1

Open Burning of yard waste only ends June 1.  Fires must be out by dark.  Burning of any trash, leaves, rubbish or other combustible material in any curb and gutter  (culverts included) or on any paved or surfaced street or alley is prohibited. Report illegal fires to the Jones County Sheriff's office.  To prevent plugging of storm culverts do not putting yard waste into storm or street ditches.  There is no dumping allowed in Little Bear Creek.

 

 

WATER NOTICE! Flushing Hydrants 

The City of Wyoming will be flushing hydrants on Mondays weather permitting.  Customers may  experience rust in the system due to the process,  caution should be taken when doing laundry to prevent stains.  Low water pressure may be experienced, you should leave your faucets off until pressure is restored.  Customers with a water softener should by-pass them during the day to prevent any problems.  Thank you for your cooperation.
