The Day Despite being July in Iowa, this 4th of July turned out to be
absolutely beautiful! The temps were in the mid 80s with a nice breeze. We did
have a few summer showers roll through, but this rainbow was one of the nice
results.
The Guests This year we had quite a few kids to help us celebrate.
(Jasmine: I promise...soon!)
Left: All three kids eating dinner
Right: Grace and Lizzie with the kitten that I call MaryAnne
Left: Lizzie asking for "juice"
Right : Quintin sitting on Daddy's lap
There were quite a few people not captured on film...we'll get you next year!
The Fireworks Left: Its been a tradition at our house to have at least one firework
go awry. This year, instead of shooting fireworks at the audience,
the boys shot this one into the house via an open door!
Right: The "finale", called the Peacock.
The Fireworks Graveyard This is what the scene looked like the next day. It only took us about
15 minutes to gather up all of the "remains". But Dad stacked them up in a
pretty little pile in the fire ring
