To sell at the market
If you would like to participate, contact Claudia Wallick at (319) 643-2712 (home) or (319) 643-3370 (work). The fee is only $1 per Friday session. This year crafts have been added to the traditional offerings of homemade baked goods and fresh produce. We would like the market to grow along with West Branch, so let us hear from you.

History of the market
The West Branch Farmers Market was established in the mid-1990s by Elaine Markuson. It was originally held on the east side of North First Street but was soon moved to the shadier west side of the street to the front lawn of the Jack and Maxine Maher residence. Jack and Maxine's grandson Mike Maher and his family now live there and they continue to host the market.

Description of the market
The market currently has a core group of regular vendors, among them Vera Wilson, Janet Vikel, and Tom Teesdale. Vera provides potato salad to die for, the perfect rolls to complement your morning coffee, and a variety of scrumptious pies and cookies.
Janet bakes fabulous pies, regular and mini-loaves of breads in a variety sure to please everyone. She also specializes in mouth watering jellies, jams, and pickles. Plus she throws in a little produce for good measure.
Then there is Tom... where does he find the time for all the vegetables he grows?! His selection out does many found at much larger markets. Tender lettuces, spinach, kale, radishes. juicy tomatoes, beets, cabbage, carrots, herbs, peppers, squashes the list is nearly endless! Quality is excellent and prices are more than reasonable.

S
teve Horner, the "melon man" will be joining the group later in the season.
