The Daugherty McPartland Group is an eclectic blend of styles and influences. From a foundation of traditional jazz, the group has built their sound with elements of soul, funk and other contemporary forms while keeping an eye to the music horizon for the next wave of jazz. 

Since forming in 1983, the group has performed jazz throughout the state of Iowa and the past year has branched out to perform nationally. The highlight of their live performances has been a tour week tour of the Soviet Union in 1991. The group has over nine releases and will release their tenth on the Master Jazz Artist Label (MJA Records) in the Spring of 200.

The group consists of Tim Daugherty on keyboards, Dennis McPartland on drums with Bob Thompson on saxes and flute and Steve Charlson on bass. The group emphasizes jazz performances, workshops and teaching jazz education classes for students of all ages.
