The best maps we carry for Sweden are the "Green" maps (Gröna kartan) from Lantmäteriet.. These have a scale of
1:50 000 (one inch = approximately 0.79 mile).

We keep these maps on hand for southern Sweden, and can special order those for northern Sweden.
These maps have much more detail than a map that shows all of Sweden on one map.
It takes over 600 of these to cover all of Sweden. To order the right map, you need to be able to zero in on a small area.
The "next best" maps we carry for Sweden are the 1:100 000 Scale (one inch = approximately 1.58 miles) "Blue" maps from Lantmäteriet. View the Map Grid for the Blue Maps of Southern Sweden
We keep these maps on hand for the area up to Västernorrlands Län, and we can special order these maps for areas farther north. It takes 156 of the Blue Maps to cover all of Sweden. To order the right map, you still need to be able to zero in on a relatively small area.
If you cannot pinpoint the area you want, you may decide to start with a map of intermediate scale.
The intermediate scale "Red" Motoring and Tourist maps from Lantmäteriet are better than a map of all of Sweden on one sheet. These maps cover Sweden in 6 maps, at a scale of 1:250 000 (for southern Sweden) or 1:400 000 (for northern Sweden). On a 1:250 000 scale map, one inch = approximately 3.95 miles; at 1:400 000, one inch = approximately 6.31 miles. View the Map Grid for the Red Bil- & Turistkartan Maps of Sweden.
They do not have as much detail as the "Green Map" or "Blue Map" Series, but each map covers more territory, and they do show many places you will not see on an ordinary map or atlas of Europe.
How can I tell from the grids which areas will be covered by which map?
It is difficult to show in a small map grid what area is covered by each map. In order to use the map grids without help, you may need to know in what County (Län) your place would be located.
View the Spotting Map showing the Counties of Sweden.
For the Blue and Green Maps, there are coordinates along the edges of the grids. If you know the coordinates of the Blue Map, you can look at the Green Map grid and use the same coordinates to pinpoint the Green Map that would show that area. If you have any doubt, it is best to ask us to verify that you are ordering the right map.
