This 1950 styled John Deere AWH was purchased by my
dad, Raymond Hammel, in
June of 1960 at Halliday, North Dakota with a new #8 John Deere mower. The
tractor was originally to be shipped to California, but it did not have a hydraulic. It was shipped to Dickinson, North Dakota instead.Dad
purchased the hydraulic made by John Deere from Tractor Supply in Dickinson, North Dakota in the early 1960’s
and put it on the tractor.
November of 1999, I went up to North Dakota to pick up the tractor and bring
it back to Jefferson, Iowa.Restoration
work began that winter. The tractor was
restored to its former glory and on display by August of 2002.
