What's Going On at St. John's?

Worship and Education

Sunday Morning Worship - 10:00 a.m.

Sunday Morning Bible Classes (Pre-School through Adult) - 9:00 a.m.

Midweek Education

For grades 3 to 8. These classes meet once a week on Thursday nights for instruction in the different articles of the faith. These classes are part of the confirmation training of our youth. The goal of these classes is that our children might grow up with a deeper understanding of God's Holy Word and a better ability to apply His Word to the real life situations they will face.

Vacation Bible School

VBS lasts for one week during the summer and provides a chance for pre-school to eighth grades to learn more about their Savior and His love for them.

Church Groups

LYF (Lutheran Youth Fellowship)

This is a group for high school students in the congregation. LYF meets monthly for Bible study and an activity. We also try to involve our teens in various servant events, helping out the poor or elderly who need a hand.

LWML (Lutheran Women's Missionary League)

This group is made up of the ladies in the congregation who use their time and talents to support the work of missionaries. LWML meets once a month for Bible Study and several times throughout the year making quilts for the poor or shut-ins. The LWML also raises funds which it uses in support of numerous mission projects.

LLL (Lutheran Laymen's League)

The LLL is made up of the men of our congregation who meet monthly for Bible study and fellowship. The funds raised by this group goes to support various projects both within and outside the congregation. Besides raising funds the men of the LLL involve themselves in different work projects for the Church.

Couples Club

Our Couples Club is a newly organized group aimed at involving the younger couples within the congregation in the work of the Church and study of God's Word. The couples club meets monthly. Even months we meet for Bible Study and fellowship. Odd months we go out as a group or sponsor an event for the congregation (This year the couples club is organizing Christmas Caroling).

Music

St. John's has Jr. Choir for third to eighth grades, Sr. Choir for the adults and a Men's Choir for all our "fellas" gifted with song.
