The Shell Rock Women's Club is open to women of all ages and stages living in the Shell Rock, Iowa area. Our goal is to better the community while also providing a social outlet for our members. The group originally formed more than 25 years ago and has now been rejuvenated by new members with help from some of the previous members.

The club sponsors or assists with many activities to benefit the community, especially our children. The fun begins in the spring when we hold an annual Easter Egg Hunt. This year we hid 1,300 eggs! We are busy over the Fourth of July when we assist with the Kiddie Parade, coordinate Sunday in the Park, sponsor Citywide Garage Sales and organize the Miss Shell Rock Contest.

In October, we hold an annual Halloween Carnival for children ages 0-10 with food, games, a costume contest and lots of fun.

Before the Holidays we host a Home Business Showcase with over 20 Exhibitors.  It's a great way to jump start your Holiday shopping, locally.  During Christmas, we help children purchase Christmas gifts for their parents at our Santa's Holiday Workshop. They also are able to visit with Santa and have professional pictures taken.

Our biggest fund-raiser of the year is held in late March when we host our Spring Tea. In 2006 we served brunch to more than 130 women while they enjoyed a speaker and chances to win door prizes donated by area merchants.

The group has assembled New Baby packets, available to parents of new babies in Shell Rock. The packets are filled with gifts and coupons from area merchants.

In the summer of 2005 we purchased tables, chairs, umbrellas and chaise loungers for our local pool. As of January 2006, Picnic for our Park, has been our most successful fundraiser to date.  We raised over $11,100 towards expanding the playground area at our beautiful city park!
