Meeting Minutes: Tuesday 2/6/06
Meeting called to order at 7:00
Attendance: Amy P, Penny W, Jennifer M, Jenni B, Claire M, Sally P, Lori G, Elana (Lani) H, Lisa W
1. Picnic for the Park- Cancelled
2. Spring Tea
March 17th - Speaker at 10:30 and Lunch Served at 11:30
Speaker is Cynthia Bane from Wartburg and topic is Changing your Health Habits
Menu: Pasta bake with lettuce salad, bread, cookies and coffee
Tickets are $7.00 each and can be purchased at various locations
Checking with Bank, Library, City Hall, Custom Creations
Purse and sweatshirt raffle
3. Easter
Date? Looks like March 31st
No details - group was not sure of members on committee
Committee signup list to follow for clarification
4. Treasurers Update
General Fund - $1,765.14
Playground Fund - $6,173.03
Jennifer M is checking to see if our playground grant could be donated to the city for the park
projects if the group decides that is what we want to do.
5. Donation possibilities
W-SR Auditorium Seat Donations - $200 per seat
Concern for future requests for cash if we start donating to various groups. It was mentioned that
we offer our time for members able to help with other groups functions. We will wait to see how
the tea turns out for raising funds for the year and discuss this at April's meeting.
6. Dr. Seuss outing for ticket holders
Feb 11th @ 4:00. We will meet at the Faith Lutheran Church at 3:00 for carpooling. Jennifer M
has all of the tickets and will disburse that day. May meet at McDonalds in Waverly after
program for supper and playtime.
7. Social Event
Hometown Bar & Grill February 17th at 5:30-6:30 social hour and meal at 6:30
Head count needed by February 12th to Steph with meal choice and any special drink requests
Menu choices are broasted chicken, broasted chop, or smothered chicken
Elana Heise is going to check on daycare options for attending members.
8. Any other discussions
Sally was wondering about creating a new scrap book to have on display at the library for town to look
at if interested in getting more info about our group. She has all of the old books for the 70's-90's but
they are not in good shape. The group told her to go ahead with getting new books made.
4th of July - We are not sure yet if Sunday in the park is going to be done by 4th of July committee,
Lori is going to call and confirm. Schedule for 4th is 3rd Kiddie Parade, 4th Parade, Carnival, Fireworks,
and band/beer tent. 4th-7th for Carnival and band/beer tent. Not sure if SRWC to do kiddie parade,
Queen contest, or Sunday in the Park. City Wide Garage sales to be held on 7th with SRWC organizing???
