The Emerson Telephone Company had its beginning in October, 1897.
A company from Tabor extended lines to Emerson, Imogene, and Henderson.
This was a Mutual Stockholder company. On April 7. 1961 Emerson was converted to a dial system. Since that time they have not only continued to improve the quality of phone service but added the Interstate Cablevision and Chat Mobility service to Emerson.
