Our Other Pets

Then there is Elmer Fud-Pucker

My son decided he wanted a Emu while we where at the Allen Swap meet 12 years ago. So with money he got from selling chickens, he bought Elmer. At that time Elmer was about 6 inches tall and a ball of fluff.

Elmer is a great pet. Here he meets my nephews little boy. Elmer being the helper he is, is more then willing to help fix the tractor. Elmer prides himself on his mechanical skill and is always willing to help. He is also a great help in guarding my chickens, he knows how many and what kind they all are. So when I get a new one it has to be caged where he can see it for a few days before it can be released. Otherwise Elmer will kill it.

Introducing Ester

I would like you to meet Ester,

A friend of mine bought 2 boxes of baby Emus at a sale. He knew I had been thinking of getting another to keep Elmer company so, I bought Ester from him. The first photo shows her out in the grass, checking out her new digs. The second one shows her meeting Elmer. Elmer thinks she is great. He shows her what to eat and how to go about eating it. This is natural for Elmer as the male Emu raises the babies. So he is happy camper. Check back often to watch as Ester grows up.

We have 3 beautiful horses. First and foremost there is Sissy, the oldest. I purchased her at a auction, she was green, I was greener. She has given me allot of lessons in how to ask, and not demand.

Sissy is now 23 years old, she was a yearling when I bought her at an auction.

Then there is her daughter Spirit. My& long awaited baby and a dream to ride. Before she was born I told my friend I wanted a filly, with some chrome and I got both my wishes and in a great package with a heart the size of Texas.

Last but not least is Mya, she was born at a farm I was working at. It was love at first site. She is as smart as she is beautiful.

                      English Angora Rabbits

I now have 3 of these little cuties and will be breeding them in the spring. So if this breed interest you check my For Sale page this spring.
