Food Pantries and Commodity Distribution
Funding is provided by Crop Walk ( Ft. Dodge ), a Pioneer Hi-Bred Grant, Monsanto ( Muscatine ), donations from other Food Pantries and other various sources. Food is given out once per month to individuals and families in need. The amount of food distributed is based on the number in the family and the food that is available. In addition to the federal commodity program, offices have worked to acquire other food donations (frozen meat, rice, beans, tortillas, and other canned foods, detergents, personal items, etc.).  Some offices also have clothes or furnishings available for farmworker families.  A call to any office will give you information on what's currently available or what referrals might be possible to locate needed items.
