Meet the staff of Prevent Blindness Iowa...

Jeanne Burmeister
Executive Director

Jeanne has been our Executive Director for over 20 years!! She is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of Prevent Blindness Iowa. Jeanne serves as the past chair of the board of directors for Community Health Charities of Iowa.

Melissa J. Marchant
Development Coordinator

Melissa joined us in April of 2004. Her responsibilities include planning/coordinating all aspects of our special events (i.e. A Shot in the Dark and Light the Night for Sight). She came to us with a background in advertising/marketing, communications and management.

Judi M. McGowan
Vision Screening Coordinator

Judi has been our part-time Vision Screening Coordinator since August of 1984. Judi's job is to recruit and train vision screeners throughout the state, attend health fairs, and oversee all program activities.

Amy G. O'Brien
Assistant Director

Amy joined us in March of 1999 as our Assistant Director. Her responsibilities include marketing/promotion and grant writing. Previously Amy was the District Director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Central Iowa.
