2005 Light the Night for Sight is scheduled for
Thursday, June 9, 2005.
Light the Night for Sight is
an annual walk for Prevent Blindness Iowa. The purpose of the walk is to
promote safe summer celebrations, to educate the public on the threat to healthy
vision, provide firework safety information and information on how to preserve
sight.
Light the Night for Sight is an evening walk – allowing us the backdrop of a gradually darkening sky that illustrates the darkness that can result when an accident or disease steals one’s sight.
The walkers, who together take steps to save sight, enjoy a heightened sense of community and awareness. Individual donors and sponsors contribute to the success of this event. All proceeds go to sight saving programs and education services in Iowa.
