Purple Pandas are NOT Dancing on the Shore

The suit didn't come.... bummer. So my brother will not be being a panda this weekend. He does still get to hang out with Mr. McFeely though...

I had about the longest day of my life today! I went to work with my mother today. It was about the most "challenging" (her words) day she has ever had. She had a person quit, a person almost get fired... lol, it was hectic and I was there the entire time.

When they were having private meetings, I shedded paper. I eventually ran out of paper... I shreded about twenty pounds of paper.... at least. When they weren't having private meetings, I read.

I've been reading MacBeth. I LOVE it EVEN MORE!!! It is so great. I really want to do it for my winter senior production, but I don't know if my actors can handle it... I've never met them so it is tough to say. If I do do it, and if I am going to act in it, I want to play Lady MacRoth. Her part is small and lovely, plus I get to scream bloody "murder". Litteraly, she screams "murder!".

My "teacher" wants to do 'The Miracle Worker". To use a Shakespearian term- BARF! Yes, the term was coined by Shakespeare....

Anyway, I'm running out of things to say, sooo
bye for now!

Americans are fat

Since I was up, I figured I might as rant to you for a bit.

Americans are fat. It is disgusting. It is fine if adults want to kill themselves, but they should be making their children eat correctly and get exercise. Plus I think the tee-shirt companies are enlarging their sizes! A large used to fit me like a glove, but now they are too huge! All of the tees I have gotten this summer, and it is many, are too large for me! I hate it! I don't like swimming in my shirt out of water!!

Purple Pandas dance on the shore

My title is in memory of that great *cough*terrible*cough* performance of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds by William Shatner. I love 'ya Willy! Woo-hoo! Kirk Days! For the lyrics to the song... they are on the extended entry.

Anyway, so the purple panda part... You guys know Mr. Rogers? How about Mr. McFeely? Well, he's coming to the local art fair! Yea!! AND he needs someone to be his "buddy" there. His friend is a purple panda, and.... no I'm not going to be it, but my BROTHER IS!! HAHAHAHA!!!

I SO wish I had a digital camera! Then you all could see him! HAHAHA!!! Hopefully the suit will fit... what really makes it funny is that he is thirteen and built like a football player. Five seven... two hundred pounds... plus- he volunteered for it! I cannot believe it! I was joking when I told him about the opening... man..... it is hilarious....

I've got to go cry from my laughter...
same time- same place- tune in!

Beatles - Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds lyrics
Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies
Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly,
A girl with kaleidoscope eyes.
Cellophane flowers of yellow and green,
Towering over your head.
Look for the girl with the sun in her eyes,
And she's gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds.
Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain
Where rocking horse people eat marshmellow pies,
Everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers,
That grow so incredibly high.
Newspaper taxis appear on the shore,
Waiting to take you away.
Climb in the back with your head in the clouds,
And you're gone.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds,
Picture yourself on a train in a station,
With plasticine porters with looking glass ties,
Suddenly someone is there at the turnstyle,
The girl with the kaleidoscope eyes.

Don't judge until you've experienced

I'm in a good mood for some reason.

For any of you that have not read Harry Potter:
It may seem to be a childish thought, but really, it is not as if JK Rowling, the author of the series, is a child herself. Her stories are quite good. There is much more to them than it seems.

I am not one to enjoy fads, but because I was a fan before most people, I can truly enjoy this book.

Rowling is a wonderful writer in ways. In others she's not great, but that is her editor's fault. He's not doing his job. Rowling knows how to control your emotions through her writings. You feel the happiness, you feel the sorrow, you know when to be scard. It is gripping. You fall in love with her characters within just a few pages.

She knows how to write characters. You know that you are not supposed to like the bossy Uncle Vernon, or the pompous Aunt Petunia, or the git that is Cousin Dudley. Instantly you feel pitty for the little orphan Harry. You want his life to become better. When you meet the sneering Malfoy, you can only feel boiling anger towards all that he represents. At first you greatly dislike Hermione, because through Harry's eyes she is annoying, but then... as the story continues you learn that she really is a good person that adds to the world. Ron, the best mate, is the best thing to happen to Harry, so of course you must like him. His humble, modest attitude complements the overnight-wizard-star-Harry's sucess and fame.

Rowling's knowledge of myths, fables, and stories adds marrow to the bones. It is what makes the world more real. It shows that we do share the same past with these characters. It adds culture.

When I first read this book, I was ten. I was sure that there was the slightest possibility that I may just get that magical letter from Hogwarts, ready to wisk me away, but now, I know that it will not come. I still wish that it was real, but I know that the closest it is going to come to reality is in my imagination. So I continue to read her books plus study the myths of our pasts. I endulge in everything that makes Harry's world so real, and that I guess is enough for me.

Discarded Treasures

I see his lone, silent figure. It blends into the sea. Blue and khaki, his favorite colors. His back is to me. I know he does not know I watch. A flock of gulls fly over him, his face looking up at them. He most likely is pondering something about them. Their flight path, their destination, their reason for leaving their roost in the first place...
He then stoops down to examine something. Most likely a shell or a piece of sea glass. He straightens again, looks at it for a few moments, and then flings the found treasure into the waves of the surf, only so that it will eventually wash up on the shore again.
He turns his body, walking up parallel with the ocean. His hands are in his pockets, and he kicks at stones in his way as if they really were a nuisance.
He stoops again, tossing away a second treasure. He only stopped for a second this time before he continued on.
He climbs the sea-whipped wooden stairs up the grassy crag. He now is at the same elevation as me, but he still does not notice.
A couple more gulls take flights as he passes them. This time he does not watch them fly away.
I wish that he would come to me so that we may retreat into the warmth. In the home, into the arms, into the existence. I know he will not though. We don't always get a second chance to throw our treasures back out to sea.

Who is Kat?

Kat is the name that a girl gave herself. KT is the name that her childhood best friend gave her. KT KaT is the name that her younger brother gave her. Katherine is the name that her mother gave her.

She was born in a city of a northern Midwestern state of the United States of America on August 17, 1985. She was reborn many times since. The first was when her brother was born on a snowy winter day in 1990. The second, when she moved on her fifth birthday to a different state. She had moved before, but this time it was different. The most recent, last Sunday. She decided to start over her life, make it better.

She has begun to ponder life greatly. "Why are we here?" "When do we know that we are there?" Just questions that she thinks about.

What is KT KaT sKaT?
It is her journey. It is her journal. It is her life as she wants you to see it. She shows a majority of things, not all, but not little. All of it is true. All of it is from the delvings.

Who will Kat be?
She does not know that. No one does. She hopes that she will be great. She has dreams. She hopes that she has enough time to reach them for it seems like there never is enough time. That is why she does not like to waste it.

Quickie

Just a thought for now 'cause I got to get back to work!

I HATE it that people delete your comment on their blog. Why do they do that? It is stupid. I have just as much of a opinion as you do!

Why do they do that? Comments? I won't delete it.

Not even a policeman will stop me

Yesterday I got my letter from the State Fair saying I got the job. I'll be working August 4-17. The 17th is my birthday. I might be able to get off. It doesn't really matter. I usually spend my birthday at the State Fair anyway. I think I have just about the best job on the grounds. All I have to do is take pictures, crop them, and write captions for them. It is going to be great. I'll be making about five hundred dollars, and I need it.
I'm already deciding what to spend it on. First, I am going to get a checking account. It is a little hard to carry five hundred dollars around in your pocket. Second, I am going to buy a clutch for my car. Third, I am going to get a digital camera. Fourth, if I still have money left, I am going to get a big comfy chair for my room to read in. Fifth, if I still manage to have some left, I am going to buy art supplies (paper, canvas, oil pastels...). Oh, actually, second, I am going to pay my brother ten dollars for doing my chores.

I have decided what I am going to do this fall. I am going to enroll at the community college and get a job. I have to. I am almost done with my high school work so there is no reason for me not to. With my first paycheck, I am going to buy the stuff I didn't buy with my state fair money and also shears for my sheep and llamas. Lately, I have been working all the time. I hardly watch TV. That is VERY good. I am going to continue doing this. I am not going to stop.

I'll be back soon,
K
