March
Meeting and Activity Highlights: In September the club met at Rodger Aeschliman’s farm for an ice cream social. Thanks for hosting this event, Roger!
During October the club had the annual plowing days and harvesting days. The weather was not ideal, as usual, but we finally got out and picked corn and stirred dirt. Thanks Larry McCarty, Bob Orman, and Dave Cobler for hosting these events. Participants had a great time! In November we had our annual soup supper and officer election. The only officer change was for treasurer. Garry Feldmann is replacing Bob Orman. On behalf of the club, I wish to thank Bob for his years of service. In January we had our toys and collectibles night. This is a popular event and we had a lot of interesting “stuff” to talk about. Finally, in February, we had a DOT representative talk about trailer loading requirements. There was considerable interest and the meeting did not breakup until almost 10:00!
John Deere enthusiast, Paul Hopkins, had a nice
article about his recent farm sale in “Two-Cylinder” magazine (Jan-Feb).
Paul is a past member and told me that he hopes to again get involved in some
club activities now that he has less farm work to keep him busy.
Upcoming meetings and activities - At the
regular March 17 meeting, Rowdy and Tanner Voss plan to demonstrate their
Case SC that they have been working on. For the April 21 meeting,
expect to see Jerry Kurka and his
Please remember that regular meetings are at Mowers and More with start time at 7:30. Local radio stations will announce cancellations due to weather.

year. The show will be held at Bridgeview in conjunction with the

Banks: If you desire a Poppin Johnnies bank, please see Garry at the next meeting. We have had problems in the past with more banks being ordered than were actually picked up. We must eliminate this problem or discontinue this service. Thanks for your cooperation.
DOT Website: If you have remaining questions regarding loading requirements on you trailer, go to www.iamvd.com/omve and click on “Iowa Truck information Guide”.
New Club: Randy Burdett from the newly formed “Lapland Plowboys” Club was at our January meeting. They meet in Moulton. Among activities mentioned in my conversation with him were one-day tractor rides. If you would like information about the club you might try a google search for “Lapland Plowboys”. The web address given to me did not work.
