| Obsidian Cliff was hardly what I expected. Known more commonly as volcanic glass, obsidian is normally thought of as being black in color with a glassy luster. This obsidian was derived from granitic magma, as opposed to basaltic magma,...which largely accounts for the different appearance. About midway along the road between Mammoth and Norris.

Roaring Mountain doesn't roar like it used to in the 1800's, but it does emit a respectable hiss. Just north of Norris Geyser Basin
