OS: Linux (Zip-Slackware-UMS dos), MS-DOS, Commodore 128, Windows 95.
Linux is used for CGI work (perl).
DOS 7 is used for most text work including, CGI programming, HTML page creation and all email.
The Commodore is used when the other three fail to give me satisfaction (which is quite often). I use Spray Paint 128 for some graphics work.
Win95 is used 80% of the time.
HTML Editor: Boxer 7.0 for Dos by David Hamel.
The primary editor used for all text, cgi, and html work is the outstanding award winning Boxer for DOS by David Hamel. Boxer makes quick work of any type of textual material I need to work with. With its lightning speed, context sensitive syntax highlighting, macros, ultimate find, and hundreds of options, Boxer is 2nd to none. It is without question the finest text editor on any platform on the planet (I've tried them all). In 20 years of programming, Boxer is the only program with which I have been 100% satisfied with.
CGI: Perl for Linux and GS Perl for Win95.
Programs are written exclusively Perl for Win95 and Linux. Web Server for CGI development. I run Apache 1.3 under Win95 and Linux for cgi testing. All CGI run on Howdy Howdy was custom written. Apache the power of the Internet.
Mail & News: Yarn .93 for DOS.
An outstanding news and mail program that is 50% faster than anything else of comparable value. Souper95 is used to pull down mail and news from the servers.
Web Browser. Opera v3.6. (nicknamed, The Big O)
Opera is the best browser currently available. Speed, MDI windows (I've got 32 websites open within in The O right now), user configurablity, and advanced features, make Netscape and IE pale in comparison. Going back to Using IE or NS, is akin to going from standing in a football stadium to standing in a closet. Believe me - in support of Howdy Howdy, I surf about 100 to 500 pages a day - buddy, I *know* browsers. Opera rocks them all.
