St. Cecilia’s Council of Catholic Women

Welcome!  All of the registered women of St. Cecilia’s Parish belong to the St. Cecilia’s Council of Catholic Women; however,  we invite all women to join in our activities.  Our group has no dues.  We meet quarterly-October, January, April and August/September (when a field trip is planned with husbands/quests.)  Our goal  for the year is to have fun while focusing on our beautiful Catholic faith and service for others...

On Thursday Oct 26th , join us for an early afternoon social - 1:30 to 3:00. Our guest speaker will be Cindy Ahrends--her topic will be The Divine Mercy. Refreshments will be served.

Our January gathering is still in the planning stages, but after all the busy Christmas season, we may be ready for some relaxing time.

RETREAT INFORMATION- Many of you asked for a retreat and this is what we found.  JAN 26-28th  2007 for a CEW(CHRISTIAN EXPERIENCE WEEKEND) to be held in Ankeny’s Our Lady of Immaculate Heart Church ($50-$70 approximate cost.) This starts on Friday evening at 6 p.m. and concludes on Sunday afternoon.  This moving weekend is available for Catholics and non-Catholics. Space is limited, so call Barb Moore(755-4363) EARLY-LIKE NOW.

Our group is divided into Circles.  The Circles are a way to communicate the needs of the parish to its members  Most often these needs are associated with food or beautification.  Each Circle has two chairladies who communicate with the members of the Circle.  The Circles take turns hosting functions according to the functions occurring in their months.

In addition to serving funeral dinners, we are involved in these activities: Cookie Carnival, Jubilee Cookbook, Altar Decorations, Maintaining the Altar Linens and Vestments, Holy Week Breakfast, Prison Ministries,  May Celebration---A combination of honoring Mary, the First Communicants, the newly confirmed including RCIA members, and the Graduates.  This will be a catered meal for all the parish.

St Cecilia’s is a dynamic, rapidly growing parish.  Come and join us in our planned activities for 2006-2007.
