John Hendricks
(5th Great Grandpa)

This is a note in the Ferguson Family Bible: (as trascribed to me from K. Ferguson)

John Hendricks was a cousin to President Johnson and attained historical fame by the killing of the great Indian chief, Tecumseh. John Hendricks, g-g-grandfather of Donald and Hugh Ferguson, was an uncle to Thomas Hendricks, Vice President of the U.S.A. John served in the Revolutionary War under Washington being a sufferer in that awful winter at Valley Forge and participating in most of the engagements. For his valor, he was awarded 300 acres of land in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.
