JOHN GALLOWAY
(4th Great-Grandpa)

In 1816, John moved to Ashland County, Ohio, took up a tract of land and settled there. He then returned to Pennsylvania where he remained until 1830, and of course forfeited the claim of 1816. (www.rootsweb.com/~ohacogs/vermillion59.html)

John served in the military Soldier in War of 1812. He was drafted into Captain Matthew Rogers Company, Colonel R. Hill's Regiment, Pennsylvania Militia, at Mifflin County, Pennsylvania in or about 1813. He was discharged at Erie, Pennsylvania, in November 1813 (Pension File WC-6481).
