Trap

Trap is shot at targets thrown out and away from the shooter, from a traphouse situated low and at the front-center of the field.  In a round of trap, shooters take five shots at each of five stations, rotating to all five stations during a round.  Trap is shot as a singles game or doubles game, and in advanced shooting, employs a handicap system which situates shooters at varying distances from the trap house.  Only one shell is loaded at a time, unless shooting doubles trap.
