Letter from the President

June 2007

The Board of Directors and

I thank your for your continuing support of our club.  I would like to take a few minutes of your time to update you on the status of NPGC.  During the past year and a half, the board members have spent a tremendous amount of time on our potential relocation.  Unfortunately the property we told you about in Bondurant fell through.  As you can imagine obtaining zoning approval can be difficult.

W realize that we concentrated so much on the relocation that we forgot some of the day-to-day issues.  We apologize for missing the small things that made our club what it was in the past.  We will get there again with your help.

As we continue checking into relocation options, it is business as usual at our present location.  We are still in excellent financial condition.  Like you, we face the same increasing costs of the clay target sports.  We have managed to maintain round fees for several years; unfortunately, the increasing target costs dictated what we raise our round rates.  In an effort to minimize the impact to the membership, we raised the rates only by the amount of increase in our last target shipment.  This increase allows us to maintain our strong financial condition.

We have a lot of exciting events at our club this summer.  The largest of these events is a Cystic Fibrosis Charity Shoot on August 3rd and 4th.  We need a substantial number of volunteers to assist in various roles for this shoot.  In over Labor Day weekend, we will have the Grizzly Bear skeet shoot.  Before these two large events, we are planning a club clean up day for July 29.  Another exciting change this summer is the addition of a Thursday night skeet league with grilling available instead of holding our traditional monthly club nights.  Flyers announcing this new league can be found elsewhere.  We hope to see you at the Club Championships on July 8.  In closing we would like to urge everyone to get out, shoot, and bring your friends.

Good shooting,

Kurt Lehman
