General InformationClub Nights Every third Wednesday of the month, March through October, is Club Night, featuring a dinner prepared by a club member or member of the board of directors. This is a great opportunity to shoot, have a great meal, and get to know your fellow members. Watch your monthly newsletter for the schedule of Club Nights. Registered Shoots These are competition events whereby shooters can "register" their scores for classification with the governing body of their particular shooting sport. As predominantly a skeet club, skeet scores are registered with the National Skeet Shooting Association (NSSA). Each Labor Day weekend, NPGC is proud to host the Wickman Memorial Skeet Shoot, a top-100 shoot nationally, along with other registered shoots during the year. Registered shoots are a great way to further your shooting experience through the excitement of competition, and are great fun! Shooting Leagues An organized "Spring" skeet league runs from January to April, and is by far the largest. Summer skeet, trap and sporting clays leagues are also held. Ask the club manager for information on joining one of the leagues. Guns and Ammunition NPGC is a shotgun and clay target facility only. Rifles, pistols or muzzleloaders (including muzzleloading shotguns) are not permitted. Shotgun gauges larger than 12 gauge are not permitted. Ammunition may be brought to the club or purchased in the clubhouse. Only low-brass shells of shot size 7 1/2, 8, or 9, with maximum loads of no more than 1 1/8 oz., are allowed. No high brass shells, tracers or slugs are permitted. Reloads are welcome as long as they are loaded in a manner consistent with component manufacturer recommendations. Children and Pets Children and pets are welcome at NPGC under supervised conditions only. Children should be supervised and accompanied by an adult at all times. Because of the use of firearms and the extreme care and safety that must be practiced in their use, children should not be allowed to run, play or roam about the NPGC complex. At no times are children allowed on the shooting fields, unless participating in supervised shooting or shooting instruction. Pets are allowed at NPGC, but must be leashed at all times. To assure that your pet does not infringe upon the enjoyment of others, please do not allow pets to relieve themselves near the shooting fields or common areas, and do pick up after them where they do relieve. Because clay target shooting involves concentration, barking dogs must be removed from the club grounds. Pets are not allowed in the clubhouse. |
