I've
been lucky enough to take some pictures of owls during my life .
I've always admired owls & I've always been in awe of them . The
photos of the Barred Owls were taken over an eight year period .
My dog, Frodo & I, took many pictures during our walks through the woods .
We became pretty close to the Barred owls & we witnessed some personal
aspects of their lives together . I use to call out to them & they would
respond to me - it was somehow comforting to hear their call back to me .
The other owls,
the Burrowing Owl, the Screech Owls & the Long-eared Owl, were taken because I
was alerted by other people about them . Now if I could only get some pictures
of a Great Horned Owl, a Great Gray Owl, a Saw-whet Owl & a
Snowy Owl - oh - & the Short-eared Owl & the Barn Owl...;-)
Barred Owl.
Burrowing Owl..
Burrowing Owl.
One of the adult Screech Owl.
# 1 Screech owlet.
# 2 Screech baby.
# 1 baby again.
And # 2 baby once again.
I'm pretty sure this is
the female Barred Owl. She was
bigger than the male & she had less
streaking on her breast & more light buff coloring.
