ACTC School News...It is that time again to give a report on the happenings here in our Anchor Character Training Center School. The young people are doing well and challenging us to keep up with them. Since the last report, we have six new, young people in our school--two young ladies and four young men. The new residents have finished their four-day program, consisting of watching and
taking notes on eight preaching videos and writing a report on all the chapters of Philippians and Colossians. They have finished thirteen booklets on Biblical Discipleship. Most of them have taken their
diagnostic testings and will start Pace Work in the school room this coming Tuesday, the second of February. As you will probably note they have been working hard. I do not know of another school that
puts more time and energy into their pupils than the ACTC school does. They also have started on their memorization of all twenty-three verses in Romans six.

Our single adult men and women are enjoying the Bible Institute, and we have two new ladies and one adult man that have come into our program in the singles' ministry here at the ACTC. Along with our other single adults residents here, they will be attending a new ten-week seminar taught by our Pastor Marvin Smith. Classes started February 2 and will run until the second week in April.

So many times we forget to let you know how former residents are doing that have finished the program. Listed below, we have taken time to share some of their stories and what is happening in their lives.

Carlos is very involved with his father and is working alongside there in the ministry in New York and possibly will be going to Hyles-Anderson College. Herbert Rivas is preaching some in the church in New York that he attends, and I understand that his church may possibly be sending him to Bible College for the Pastorate. Kenny Lazo is involved in his church in New York (with the Spanish ministry), working at McDonalds, and going to school. Regina Park is going to a public school, and has asked us to pray for
her to be a good witness for the Lord there. She is trying to find a place of service in her church there in Chariton, Iowa. Also pray for Monica Pierce, who is home-schooling, working at HyVee grocery store, and very involved with her church in Illinois. Hannah Hawk is home-schooling in California and trying to work situations out in her life. She is going to church and misses us, she says. Anna Rivas works alongside of a teacher with 5th grade students in their Christian School in California. She is very involved with her church and is waiting on mom and dad to make decisions for her life. We are very proud of her. In fact, the last time we talked with her, she said, "I dreamed that all the staff at the ACTC were former residents of the Anchor Home." Where does that leave us, as staff? At Home with our Savior? Rosa Barcenas is working at a fabricator place and trying to stay afloat from being so tired! She is working at a very physical job. Please continue to pray for all our people who have gone out to serve the Lord with their lives. They need our prayer and encouragement. |

So you see it is very important for us not to forget the ones who have been here and left. Only eternity will tell us what He will do through our service to Him through them. Continue to pray as we have new resident calling every day.
For Him,
Staff of A.C.T.C.

The Children's Departments, from 3 years of age through sixth grade are being taught this quarter about some of the people Jesus knew during His time on earth. The lesson series is on "Learning about the Lord Jesus." The first through sixth grade is also enjoying their new classrooms over at the old Anchor Horne. They have been busy decorating their class-rooms and are looking forward to more improvements to come this month.

More lighting is to be added and rooms without carpet will soon be carpeted. Our Great God is so good to us. He has given us so much to be thankful for at Harvest Baptist Church.

The Teen Class under the teaching of Brother Campbell have been doing well and have enjoyed their different activities. Praise the Lord for godly teachers. The different adult classes are growing and enjoying their studies on "Knowing God." The teachers have been challenged with their lessons. The teacher always receives so much when he is preparing for the teaching of his flock.

Please continue to pray for guidance in the different classes we offer to a very diverse personage that we have in our church at Harvest Baptist. Our goal is to add more adult and children classes as the Lord leads others to teach. In March there will be another seminar on "How to Teach Children." Those interested in getting in on this class should look for more information in the coming weeks.
