Dear Friends and Family of Harvest,X I am writing this article from the passenger side of my car on my way to a school basketball game at Marshalltown, Iowa. I am so proud of our young people. You see, the most important thing that I want for our young people is for them to have a burden for souls and an obedient heart toward their parents. Winning ball games can be fun and exciting, but I never want winning ball games to become more important than winning souls.
X My heart is convicted in these days over lost men, women, boys, and girls who are sinking down in sin; and it is high time that we, as the Church of the Living Lord Jesus Christ. throw out the life line. It is time we hold the torch of the Gospel high. Hold it high in the work place, at the grocery store, at school, and in our neighborhoods.
X Souls are at stake, and eternity is real--who is going to care more than Harvest Baptist Church? Our name "HARVEST" describes the kind of church that God planted in the hearts of men to start over six years ago. It is a church with the harvest on its heart, with a burning passion for souls, with a love for lost men, so much as to drive us to take the Gospel to the streets and the market place.
X At present we are calling all hands on deck to help throw out the lifeline to lost and drowning men. Over seventy people are going out soulwinning on Thursday nights. It is time we see that number rise to over eighty going out to share the Gospel.
X On Saturdays at the bus Workers meetings there are over twenty going out on the bus routes to find lost boys and girls to ride their buses to come and learn abut Jesus and His wonderful salvation, but there is a tremendous need for at least another five to ten adults to get involved in the bus visitation.
X Also on Saturday mornings there are around six to ten adults going our making visits to new move-ins and visitors in our church services. If only we Could have fifteen to twenty going out and inviting people to church, ministering to homes that are searching, it would make all the difference in all the world. At 9:45 on Saturday mornings there are between eight and ten people that are out door-to-door visitation. That makes over 100 people out each week. I am sure there are others that are visiting and calling on people; however, it is time we all find a place to be a part of the soulwinning efforts of Harvest.
X Will you pray and ask the Lord what part you could have in this unbelievable task of sharing the Gospel to every soul in Ft. Dodge, Webster City, Rockwell City, Eagle Grove, Clarion, Otho, Coatville, Woolstock, Manson, and Humboldt? There is not one soulwinning, caring, compassionate church reaching out to these communities. The harvest is white and ready--will we also leave the harvest to rot in the fields?
X My prayer is that God would begin to break my heart and the hearts of other men and women for these cities. May God find me weeping over these precious people. Thank you to all of you that are going!
See you at one of 'these Soul winning activities:
