GSASL Medals and Decorations
French

The following awards and decorations are available to GSASL players playing as the French in a GSASL campaign:

Croix du Combattant (Combatant's Cross)  - Awarded by Battalion CO after first GSASL victory
Insigne du Blessé Militaire (Military Wound Badge) - Awarded by Batt. CO each time the GSASL player's company strength of retained units is less than 50% of full company strength (based upon US#)
Croix de Guerre (War Cross) - Awarded by Batt. CO after first three consecutive GSASL victories.  Any five consecutive victories earns a Bronze star to the medal (shown).  Any seven consecutive victories earns a Silver star to the medal.
 
Croix de Guerre des Théatres d'Opérations Extérieurs (War Cross for Overseas Operations) - Same as the Croix de Guerre, but awarded for action occuring outside of mainland France.

Note: This war cross was created in 1921 for award to French and Colonial troops serving abroad. The 'regular' Croix de Guerre was intended to cover action in and around France only.
 

Médaille Militaire (Military Medal) - Awarded by Batt. CO when player's GSASL Campaign game score is +5 or better, GSASL Ladder Points total is 200+ AND a) the player loses 5 or fewer CVPs during the mission (including any temporarily attached units) or b) 2+ heroes appear for the player in a mission

 

Gold Star to the Croix de Guerre - Must have 250+ Ladder points. Must have played at least 10 total GSASL missions. Awarded by Regimental CO, upon recommendation of Batt. CO after player's GSASL Campaign game score is +7 or better and Reg. and Batt. CO are satisfied player has been suitably successful in following orders and is supported by AARs in overcoming enemy obstacles and problems faced on the battlefield
Bronze Palm to the Croix de Guerre - Must have 300+ Ladder points. Awarded by Regimental CO, upon recommendation of Batt. CO as follows: a) One leader in player's GSASL company must be 9-2 or better. At least 1 squad must be elite. All leaders must pass a NTC. Award still at discretion of Regimental CO, based upon the player's AARs OR b) 2+ heroes appear in a mission

Note:  Five Bronze Palms are replaced by a Silver Palm. 

Légion d'Honneur (Legion of Honor) - Must have 350+ Ladder points. Awarded by Regimental CO, upon recommendation of Batt. CO. All leaders in player's GSASL company must be 9-1 or better. Unit may not have any green or conscript units. More than 50% of squads must be elite. All leaders must pass a NTC (modifier reversed). Award still at discretion of Regimental CO, based upon the player's AARs.  This medal has five classes and may be awarded more than once as follows:

1st award:  Chevalier -(5th Class) - Silver badge worn on left breast, scarlet ribbon
2nd award:  Officer - (4th Class) - Gold badge worn on left breast, suspended from scarlet ribbon with rosette -----> 
3rd award:  Commandeur - (3rd Class) - Gold badge worn at neck on scarlet ribbon
4th award:  Grand Officer - (2nd Class) - Gold badge worn on left breast. Star on right breast
5th award:  Grand Croix - (First Class) - Gold badge worn at left hip on broad scarlet sash from right shoulder to
                         left hip. Star on left breast

Note:  The Légion d'Honneur carries the automatic award of the Croix de Guerre with palm.
