Funky Motoracer Logo that is taking forever to load

Welcome to the place on the net for info on MotoRacer, the great new racing game from Delphine Software. Moto Racer is available for both the PC and the Playstation.

On the PC it has support for both Direct 3D and MMX, making it an interesting "hardware" title. Its a great game to show off your new 3D accelerator on, but its still forgiving and will run nicely on an older Pentium equipped with ViRGE.

Gameplay is what brings it home for this title though. Seat of the pants driving in two totally unique styles, sends the adrenaline surging through your body as you careen through well crafted levels on your quest for the golden one. So read on fellow racer, for everything you need to enhance the experience you call Moto Racer!

News:

12/29/97 - The Page is here... More to come in the future, track descriptions, more tips and tricks, best lap times, and multiplayer Motoracer.

Tips and Tricks:

No, you didn't get cheated when you bought the game. All these tracks we're talking about are in the game, you just have to beat the first four tracks before you can access them. In its way, this adds to fun of the game, but if you want it all right now, see the Cheats section.

Best times bugging you?
Are some of those fantastic times on the other Motoracer pages bothering you? Well, great times come from alot of practice and taking every shortcut   you can. One of these shortcuts is in the form of a bug. Apparently racing with the detail set down to 1, the clock actually gives you longer seconds, resulting in shorter times. I'm still trying to track this down, but I'm giving it a hesitant confirmation.

Looking for some good hints, tips and tricks that you have learned from the game. Specific tracks tips, what bike to use, path to take, etc, or whatever you think is useful.

Bikes:

bike.jpg (10247 bytes)At the start of each track, you can pick from a score of different bikes, each with a rating in four areas, Acceleration, Top Speed, Grip, and Brakes.

Choosing the right bike depends upon what track you are racing. If you're on a long straight track, such as Speed Bay, you want to choose a bike with greater Top Speed and Acceleration. On Red City, you'll be pulling the human ping-pong ball move if you don't choose a bike with decent brakes.

Votes for the best bike on each track can be sent to: ethanhunt314@hotmail.com

If enough votes are collected, an advisory table will be compiled.

Cheats:

You can get there from here. All cheats are entered at the "Enter your name" prompt during the game startup. If entered correctly, the game should beep and repromt your for your name, where you can either enter another cheat, or enter your playing name. Here are all the cheats:

CDNALSI - Gives you access to all the tracks
CESREVER - Plays all tracks in reverse mode
CTEKCOP - Pocket mode, tiny bikes.

Also, see the downloads section for a cheat utility.

Patches:

No CD Patch:
Now, I'm sure this patch isn't official. It allows  you to run the game off the hard-drive, without the Motoracer CD in. Its great if you want to pop another music CD in to race to. I suppose it can also be used to spawn versions of the game onto friends computers for multiplayer testing.

Polygon Patch:

As far, as I know this patch is not official. I have not been able to get any confirmation from Delphine that this is theirs. The readme files says:

MotoRacer
Polygons version.
This version should run faster on 3d accelerated graphic cards.

Changes
*) Hardware acceleration for graphic cards that do not support textured polygons (like Matrox Millenium) is not available.
*) Your graphic card must have 4 Mb to run the game with hardware acceleration.

But hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, eh? I haven't tried this yet, as I don't have my new PC yet, but as soon as I can, I'll let you know. In the meantime, you can download it here:
