The Limburg House was built in 1905 by Paul Stillman. Dr. J.I. Limburg M.D. purchased the home in 1937, where his medical offices were on the second floor. The innkeepers, Donna and Eldon Nelson, purchased the home in 1990. They, along with their children, Shawn and Shane, then began renovations on the home. By 1997, plans were underway to create a Bed and Breakfast.
Preservations to the mission oak staircase,
hardwood floors, and woodwork were completed by the innkeepers. In the
parlor and formal dining room there are Victorian Antiques and a large display
of Dr. Limburg's surgical instruments.
The guest accommodations consist of two suites with sitting rooms and private baths, and one double suite room with a sitting room and private bath, all in Victorian Decor.
Neola Jean Room - 1860 Crown High Top queen bed with sitting area, private bath with chandelier above claw foot tub, television, and telephone.
Shawn Shane Room - A suite with sitting room, private bath with claw foot tub, 1860 Acorn Victorian High Top queen bed, television, and telephone.
Nelson's Tree House - 3rd floor suite with 1920 French Country queen bed, large sitting room, private bath, television, and telephone.
All with full breakfast that includes juice, fruit with homemade muffins or bread, main dish served with pancakes or waffles or French toast, and a sweet dish and finishing with flavored coffee.
Call 515-386-4699 for reservations. Payment of one night deposit in advance is required. Payment is accepted by Visa, MasterCard, personal check and cash.
Cancellations must be made with a 72 hour notice for full refund.
Open all year.
Restrictions include No pets and smoking in designated areas only.
