Welcome to my homepage!Kitty, kitty, kitty

It's me!My name is Lesley Lackore, and I work in the Purchasing Department at Iowa State University as a Program Assistant, where I administer the Purchasing Card Program and the new Web Requisitioning System. I completed the Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree at ISU in May 2000, and since I'm hanging around the university, I'm sure there's more coursework in my future.

Latest News:
The Ames Chamber Artists spring concerts are over for another season.  After two years as publicist for the group, I will be President-elect for 2002-03 and barring some kind of ugly coup d'etat, President for the 2003-04 season.

On New Year's Eve 2001, at the ripe old age of 41, I finally got my ears pierced.  My youngest sister was thoroughly disappointed that my mother didn't yell at me.

And what's a homepage without a theme song?

(Requisition me a beat...)Hermes Conrad, my bureaucratic role model

Born to Be a Bureaucrat
We didn't choose to be bureaucrats.
No, that's what almighty Jah made us.
We'd treat people like swine and make 'em stand in line,
Even if nobody paid us!

They say the world looks down on the bureaucrats.
They say we're anal, compulsive, and weird.
But when push comes to shove, you gotta do what you love,
Even if it's not a good idea!

And now, just what you've been waiting for:

The Sopralto

When I'm not busy making a living or herding cats, you can probably find me singing. Soprano. Most of the time, except when I'm singing alto.

Upcoming Performances:

Ames Chamber Artists, Marin R.T. Jacobson, Director

Sunday, December 8, 2002, time TBD, Augustana Lutheran Church, Boone, Iowa

Other Ensembles:

I tend to a small herd of cats in my spare time. My friends tell me they won't be too concerned about me until I have at least 10.

Toby, the oldest, was a sickly 8-week-old found under the deck of a friend's brother's house. He has grown up to be a healthy, happy 16-pound man of the house.

Alice was adopted from my vet, Dr. Tammy; she was from a litter of three barn kittens. She's now the calico with an attitude.

Cleo I found as a kitten along the side of the road. She was about 8-weeks old and trying to eat a weed. She is now our mysterious black cat.

Above on the left is a picture of Alice horning in on Toby's favorite spot on the sofa, and on the right is Cleo, the baby of the family. She is not a drunk, mean cat, despite what Kevin and Dave think from seeing this picture.
