I started Jain Jeffer in early '92 with Ray McAvoy and Mindy Brown. A couple months later we were joined by Buckley Mills. Ray played mostly guitar, and I played mostly mandolin, bouzouki, dobro, and harmonica. But we mixed it up a bit. Buckley played violin and Mindy sang. We produced our CD 'F IN THE INEFFABLE' in '93. It is all original music in a sort of celtic/acid/punk sort of style. We played all over Sioux City and the surrounding area and opened for John Hartford(twice), Tom Paxton, Warren Zevon, Tuck and Patti, Steppenwolf, and played the SC Saturday in the Park twice. We were the first band in SC to produce a "CD" and had quite a unique and successful run. Sadly, artistic differences brought about the demise of the band. I am very proud of this CD and still have a few available. You can have one for 5 bucks shipped to your door.
