S&G
Products, Co. , is dedicated to
continually testing our products and making sure that we stay
current on the ever changing USA NHTSA Regulations on Rear Facing
Child Restraints. To always at the date of manufacture of our goods
meet or exceed the FMV Standards 213, 302, 309. And to see more
please click on the test picture and you can judge from your own
eyes who well and sturdy this product is designed, to comply with
the dynamic test portion of NHTSA's FMV 213.

Other Safety
Factors Added To This Product
While designing the SnG
Products line our founder had a unique look at how to design the
product from a safety and ergonomic point of view using what he had
learned in undergraduate bio-medical engineering classes while
studying this at the University of Iowa. So using high tech computer
simulations such as Mechanica(R), and COSMOS(R)
FEA and
other design tools such 3-D Solid Modeling Software, we were able to model and optimize the design
from a crash worthiness model using finite element analysis software
that actually predicted the way that this product would perform in a
dynamic collision. This was so good that when we tested the product
the very first time we complied with NHTSA's FMV-213 without any
changes to the initial product design.
We also designed the
product to optimize the ergonomic aspects of the design to provide
the most comfortable while at the same time not compromising on
safety that is why the seat back angle is 49.5 degrees when used as
a carseat this is from our research the best angle to have your baby
to offer the best protection angle so that the harness works
properly but not so high of angle as some other newborn carseats or
convertible carseats that it could cause labored breathing making it
uncomfortable to a baby so they get fussy and do not like the
carseats.
Also when testing the
carseats at S&G we have used the higher weighted test dummy in
our testing that is the European Group 0 test dummy that is 22.5LBs,
this is better for you because you can use the product longer than
the usual 18 LB Test Dummy That is the usual test standard for
FMV-213 so this gives you the parent around 3-4 months more of using
our 22.5 Rated carseat than the standard 18.0 rated ones for 9 mo.
old babies. This is a key feature since the longer a baby can be
rear facing the better bio-mechanically that they are in the event
of a crash. The reason for this is that the head and neck muscles
are still developing and the head is bio-mechanically the heaviest
part of the baby and if they are facing forward the amount of neck
and head acceleration also known as a (HIC) Value is higher facing
forward than when the baby is in a rear facing carseat.
Another safety
feature that our product line uses is a true 5 point harness system
that has hardware that is made for 1.5 inch nylon seatbelt webbing.
We use in our opinion a higher grade of a carseat harness system
than all the others who use the same stuff, we went to TRW Occupant
Safety the makers of most commercial automobile restraints in the
USA today would have an edge over others who do not have this
ability. To
see the buckle harness system we use click on this
link. And again you be the
judge of this yourself but we feel spending 2-3 times as much on
this feature is still worth it to have a better product in our
opinion that what we could have offered if we went the same path as
everybody else.
We at S&G products feel
that your baby's safety is our number on concern and mission for us
to be in business today. And we believe in continually improving the
product line to if possible even make it better and we are committed
to researching new and innovative ways of improving all around
safety for the users of our product line.
