Qualifications for the

 

CLUB SECRETARY EXCELLENCE AWARD

 

 

The Club President is the person who must recommend club secretaries for the Club Secretary Excellence Award.  There is no Lion form to fill out, so the club president must submit the secretary’s name with qualifications to the District Governor in letter form along with the completed check list given below showing that the secretary has met the qualifications.  The District Governor must also approve the recipient who was recommended for the award.

 

The completed and signed letter along with the completed check list must be submitted to the District Governor by July 31, 2005.

 

A Club Secretary must fulfill the following requirements to qualify for the Club Secretary Excellence Award:

 

______   1.  The club shall comply with the association’s constitution and by-laws and

                    the policies of the International Board of Directors and shall refrain from any

                    action encouraging unauthorized use of the name, the emblem, the marks:

                    “Lions,” “Lions Club,” “Lions Club International,” and other insignias of

                    the association.

 

______   2.  The Annual Activity Report required by Lions International must be

                    completed and filed prior to July 15, 2005.

 

______   3.  All Monthly Membership Reports must be submitted prior to the 5th of each month.

 

______   4.  The secretary must have sponsored one or more new members who shall have been

                    inducted during his/her term as secretary of the club.

 

______   5.  The club must have conducted at least one major service activity, which shall

                    have been reported to the District Governor on a Monthly Activity Report.

 

______   6.  The club must have conducted at least one major fund-raising project which shall

                    have been reported to the District Governor on a Monthly Activity Report.

 

______   7.  The club shall have had at least one article in a newspaper of which a copy of the

                    article was forwarded to the District Governor.

 

______   8.   The PU-101 Form must have been submitted to the District Governor and Lions

                     International prior to May 15, 2005.

 

______  9.   The club secretary must have attended at least two zone meetings in his/her zone.

 

______ 10.  The club secretary must have attended two of the following during his/her year

                    in office:  ____ District 9x9 Fall Rally; ____ District 9x9 Convention;

                    ____ Midwinter Leadership Conference; ____ The Multiple District (State)

                    Convention; ____ The International Convention.
