I'm not saying that all of you have problems with learning to accept yourselves, but I think there is enough to address it. Why else would the tragedies like Littleton take place? I doubt they were raised to be killers. They had what appeared to be normal parents….so what happened? I don't think anyone will ever be able to answer that. However we can learn from it and move on. What a great thing that God has done for us through Jesus. In the Gospel according to Matthew, at the end of the eleventh chapter, Jesus gave us words to live by forever. He said "Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from it. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul." If just a couple of teenagers had heard that a couple weeks ago. There might be 15 people around that currently with our Lord and Savior. These words he spoke are words to live by. I had to learn to do that myself. In throwing your worries on the only one capable of them..Jesus, It frees you up to try to be yourself. I'm not saying that it is a freedom to do whatever you please, but it creates an opportunity to try to be yourself and find self worth. In the movie "Dave" there is a guy acting out the role of the president. In a scene the acting president asks a secret service agent if he would take the bullet for him. The agent refused to answer, implying no. To know that you have no protection is an eerie thought. However you have someone who has already "taken the bullet" for you. Jesus died so that you are protected forever. You never have to ask that question. You are so precious that you were worth the life of the Son of God Himself. You can take this knowledge and allow it to give you the confidence it takes to believe in yourself. You don't have to live in fear!!! There is one thought I would like to leave you with. Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." If you want to talk more about this come in and see me…...Mike
