Continued Litter Training
I have litter trained this puppy to a small area of my house. It is used to my house and surrounding. When you take it home and introduce it to its new surrounding, you may have to emphasize the litter training (taking it to the litter box after playing or eating for the first few days so it gets used to where it is in your home) to reinforce what the puppy has learned. It should not take very long for it to get used to its new home and environment.
If you decide not to continue with the litter, I would suggest crate training the puppy to go outside or to eliminate where you would like it to eliminate. If you crate train the puppy make sure the crate is only large enough for him to lay in comfortable, any more room then that and it may potty in the crate. It will not potty in the crate unless forced to (left in it unattended for several hours) because it does not like to lay in it. Take the puppy to its place of elimination after it has been confined in its crate, after playing, after napping, or about 10 to 20 minutes after eating. If you see the puppy do its pre-potty sniffing of the floor, you may also take it to the place where you want it to eliminate. If you catch the puppy going potty in the house, pick it up gently and tell it no and put it in the place where you want it to eliminate. When it has finished praise it.
When you crate train the puppy, the puppy is in the crate whenever you are not able to play, entertain, or feed it until it is totally potty trained to your house.
