Basketball Tournament
Rules and Guidelines
|
1. Games
will be 9 minutes with the clock running continuously. Winner
of the game will be the team ahead at the end of time.
|
2. Each team
may register 4 players. Only 3 may play in any one game.
No substitutions during a game. If a player fouls out,
the team must play the remainder of the game short.
|
3. No
time outs. No stalling. One one warning will be issued.
|
4. After
all baskets, fouls, and out of bounds calls, the ball must
in bounded at the top of the designate line. The ball
must be passed in across the designated line, not dribbled.
After a steal or turnover, the ball must be brought out
to the designated line, but may be dribbled in.

5. Referees
will be provided.
|
6. A player
is allowed 4 fouls. A technical foul counts as two fouls.
|
7. No
zone defense unless a team has to play short a player.
|
8. All teams
are guaranteed at least two games.
|
9. The home
team will be the team in the upper level of the bracket.
The home team will call the flip of the coin to determine
the possession of the ball at the beginning of the period.
|
10. Overtime will be 2 minutes in length, with a coin flip
to determine possession at the beginning of the overtime
period. If a tie exists after the first overtime, a flip
of the coin will determine possession of the ball and a
"sudden death" overtime will commence first
basket wins.

11. All
Jerseys must have a number on the back.
|
12. No
Co-Ed teams
|
13. A player
may play up an age group but may not play down.
|
14. A
player can play on only one team in their age group. They
could, however, also play with a team in an older age group.
|
15. T-shirts and medals
will be awarded to first, second and third place, everyone
will receive a participation ribbon.
|
16. Hamilton
County Exposition will provide warm up and game balls. Please
do not bring your own personal basketballs.
|
17. No unsportsmanship
like conduct will be tolerated. These games are for fun
and to learn. Please treat everyone with respect.
|
18. Games
will be held regardless of weather conditions.
|
The Hamilton
County Exposition will not be responsible for any accidents
or injuries to participants or spectators. The Hamilton
County Exposition will also not be responsible for thefts
or loss of personal possessions. Coaches will be responsible
for their players while on Fairgrounds Property.
