Hi!  I was born and raised in Eau Claire, Wisconsin;  this being the case, I was injected with Green Bay Packer juice at a very early age.  Having graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1964, I attended the then Wisconsin State University – Eau Claire, where I attained my Bachelor of Science Degree in 1968 with a Major in chemistry and a Minor in mathematics.  I was drafted into the US Army early in 1969 and did a tour in Viet Nam from July 1969 – July 1970.  I entered Wartburg Theological Seminary in the Fall of 1971 and obtained my Master of Divinity degree in 1975.

During my career I have served congregations in Argyle, Wisconsin, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Wilhelmshaven and Wildeshausen in Germany, three short Interims in Fairview, Montana, Grenora, North Dakota and Regina, Saskatchewan, and then was called to the Lemberg/Neudorf Lutheran Parish in rural southern Saskatchewan, before coming to Titonka, Iowa.

I have three grown children:  Gerald (with wife, Emily and sons, Patrick and Cedric) of Giessen, Germany, Elisabeth (with husband, Jörn and son, Dominick) of Wilhelmshaven, Germany, and Charles (with wife, Kristina and [almost] daughter, ?) of Omaha, Nebraska.  When I’m not preaching, visiting and teaching, I enjoy a little golf, playing my guitar, and science fiction in various forms (I suspect I could watch any episode of the original Star Trek TV series and probably many of the movies, turn the sound down and do the dialogue myself).

I am pleased to have returned to my homeland to round out my career, and I am looking forward to exploring, together with my fellow members of Good Hope Lutheran Church, what it is that God would have us do in our particular location in His creation.
