Good Hope Lutheran Church

Welcome to Good Hope Lutheran Church

Pastor’s Pages April, 2020 Dear Friends in Christ, In this time of crises, I am choosing to “Be still and know that God is God”. The opportunities are there for a wide range of emotions, from feeling overwhelmed to panic. I’ve been caught up in some of those emotions.  With those emotions I found myself exhausted, and unsure of what to do next?  I chose to listen to the words of Psalm 46 “Be still and know that God is God”.  I know God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Yes, we are in trouble at this time, however, remember that our troubles are not greater than God.  Look for the blessings in your life because God continues to bless us and care for us. When the uncertainties and fears, this Pandemic can become overwhelming,  I remember that even when the mountains shake and the seas roar and foam, all God needs to do is speak.  When He speaks the earth melts. We are being encouraged to not watch the news and be careful of what we read online.  There are many voices calling for our attention. Listen to the accurate voices such as the CDC and World Health Organization. Most importantly we need to stop and listen to the voice of God. I invite you to join me, to see the works of the Lord and what He has done on this earth.  Look around at the beauty of nature. Look to the cross of Christ. Listen to God’s Word and what God promises us.  I encourage you to read Psalm 46 and Luther’s Hymn, “A Mighty Fortress” which based on this Psalm.  Let God speak. In this time of crises, I am choosing to “Be still and know that God is God”.   I encourage you to do the same. In Christ, Pastor Kim Peterson COVID-19 Information
