Willingness to have children

Question:

Recently I have had my tubes tied. I have three children. I recently turned back to God and now I know this was a sin. I was wanting to get married but read that the consecration of marriage is only valid in the eyes of God if you are williing to have children. What are your thoughts?

Answer:

You are correct. Marriage is valid when both enter willing to have children. In your case, you are unable to have children, that does not mean the same thing as not being willing to have children. If for some strange reason you became pregnant, through the grace of God, would you welcome the child into your life? If you answered yes, you are willing to have children.

I have also heard some cases where people have had this surgery reversed. This could be something that you consider, though it would not be necessary for a valid marriage, so long as your future husband is aware of your current situation.
