Welcome to Blender!Blender is a free 3D modeling program from a company in the Netherlands called Not a Number. If you've ever wanted to get into 3D modeling but realized the commercial packages were too expensive and/or too difficult to use, then Blender may be right for you. When you first open Blender, you are likely to say "How the heck do you use this?" You will definitely want to look at some tutorials for beginners. After doing so, it won't be long before you are creating impressive still images and animations. ImagesThe UNE CV Valiant

Shockwave, version 3The long awaited (or at least long promised) sequel to shockwave, version 2. Shockwave, version 2A new (and hopefully improved) shockwave. Blending a shockwaveThis Blender creation was inspired by a tutorial at the Star Wars Modeling Alliance. It is a shockwave similar to the shockwave at the beginning of Star Trek VI, or the ones in Star Wars Special Edition and Return of the Jedi Special Edition (when the Death Stars explode, when Alderaan explodes). The one at SWMA was done in Lightwave and has some features that I was unable to reproduce. However, I have added some unique touches that my inspiration didn't, and I think it turned out pretty darn cool. |
