InterStellar OverDrive#1:
"All Tomorrow's Parties"
(originally drawn 1988, various versions published 1988-1989)
'clan the dragonman'

Wayne, Elvis, and Flexia save Big Bill, Didi, Winnie, and Bill's newly purchased L4 space station from a psycho Dragonman bent on melting down the station's reactor.

The cover may look like one of those busty bad-girl comics currently cluttering up the comics shelves but it was done years before that trend. It was penciled and inked in '88 by Doug Holverson and colored by early '89 by Geoff Everts. The print shop printed the colors way too light, and the results resemble the much later Mortal Kombat character, Sindel (see right).

This was comic was available in many forms: the InterStellar OverDrive F*U*N book

  • Ash-can version (1988) with black & white covers, different fight scene, and different version of the back cover.
  • InterStellar OverDrive F*U*N Book, a.k.a.: InterStellar OverDrive #1/2(1988), another ash can with black&white covers, paired with an early version of ISOD #2 (cover at left).
  • Coverless insert in the Western Chronicle college newspaper (1989), where it was an A+ journalism project.
  • First direct market version(1989 as 1990 issue), with the Western Chronicle inserts stapled between four-color covers.
  • Second direct market version, with slightly altered guts, and extra page of filler (1989 as 1990 issue).
