Ambulance Fueling Procedure

Purpose: To maintain a cost-effective method for ambulance fueling.

Policy: As City of Eagle Grove Ambulances require fuel, each vehicle will be fueled at the Farmland COOP, located on East Broadway west of the fire station.

If a city of Eagle Grove Ambulance is away from Eagle Grove and fuel is needed, a Department of EMS credit card may be used to pay for the fuel, at a location determined by the credit card brand. The receipt for the fuel will be placed with the run report documentation at the return of the trip. The receipt will be kept on file with the EMS Chief until the invoice is received and paid.

Procedure: As fuel is required for the ambulances, the operator shall proceed to the Farmland COOP. Using the designated credit card, slide the card through the appropriate card reader, then enter code number that is written the back of the card and then select the appropriate pump for diesel fuel. After the pump is operational, proceed with fueling the vehicle. After vehicle is full, hang up fuel nozzle, and place ambulance back in-service.
