[The Dormitory Inn] The Dormitory Inn was built in 1888. Its purpose was to provide living accommodations for teachers who taught across the street at the Castana Consolidated Independent School. In the early 1900's Normal Training classes were held in Castana. The Dormitory was a temporary home to aspiring teachers. In the 1920's - 1950's, first, second, and third grades were housed in The Dormitory as space at the school was limited. Memories abound at The Dormitory Inn.
