Lakeside Festivals, LTD
Welcomes you to
23rd Annual DixieFest will Feature Top Midwest Bands
For the past 22 years, during the last weekend in July, Dixieland jazz has invaded Clear Lake, Iowa. Visitors from surrounding states, across the nation, and from several international countries, have gathered to hear what has been termed “America’s only original art form”, traditional jazz music, performed by musicians from not only the Upper-Midwest, but as far away as Australia and France. The serene lakeside venue comes alive with sounds that were heard in the long-gone pavilions that lined the nearby lakeshore during the early years of the 20th century.
On July 25th and 26th, the 23rd Annual Lakeside DixieFest will include music from four different bands to include “Barbary Coast Dixieland Band”, from Minneapolis, “The Barehanded Wolfchokers” from Davenport, “The Party Gras Classic Jazz Band”, from Des Moines, and the host band “Raiders of the Lost Art” from Mason City, Iowa.
Concerts will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Saturday evening, and from Noon until 8:00 pm on Sunday. There will be a 9:30 AM church service in the park led by “The Raiders of the Lost Art.” Barbary Coast Dixieland Band will be leading church services at 8:30AM and 11:00AM at the Methodist Church.
The Lakeside DixieFest continues to be one of the very few traditional jazz festivals in the country that is free-to-the-public, thanks to the generosity of several area businesses and organizations, and contributions from individual patrons including Clear Lake Bank & Trust, CLTel, Thrifty White Stores, Corporate Farmer, Kingland Systems, Dean Snyder Constr. Co., Bertha Stebbens Foundation, Sukup Manufacturing, Yohn Companies, Rich Dean Memorial.
Come early and join us for a Triple-decker Lakefest weekend to include the 27th Annual Iowa Storytelling Festival, held on Friday evening and Saturday, and the 38th Annual Clear Lake Art Sail, all day Saturday.

This group of outstanding musicians have performed at jazz festivals, community concert series, and numerous events throughout the country, and has even performed in Japan. The doubling of instruments (6 men…18 instruments) provides as wide a range of sounds as any traditional band in the country.
The group was inducted into the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
We welcome them back to Clear Lake.
The Party Gras Classic Jazz Band
Des Moines, Iowa
This will be the band’s second appearance at the Lakeside DixieFest, having first appeared here in 2011. Seven of the top bandleaders in the Midwest make up the band, and that means good-time jazz and plenty of it.
