DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Employment is the objective for each individual served by the Vocational Rehabilitation Program. Eligible individuals receive counseling and guidance in choosing a vocational objective consistent with their interest and abilities and in determining how to prepare for and obtain a job. An employment plan is jointly developed by the individual and the rehabilitation counselor and summarizes the individual’s job goal, services needed to achieve this objective, how services will be obtained and how and when progress will be measured.

Rehabilitation Services may include:

Services may be provided after employment to maintain the job.

Independent Living Services are also provided by the Division. Persons with severe disabilities who are not eligible for the regular Vocational Rehabilitation Program may qualify. Services provided must be designed to increase the individual’s ability to function independently. Application or program information about independent living services may be obtained from any Vocational Rehabilitation Office.

ELIGIBILITY: Disability and vocational impediment.

AREA SERVED: Statewide

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: May be made by contacting any of the area offices or service centers located through out the state. Rehabilitation counselors may also be contacted during their regular visits to other state and local government offices or schools within local communities.
