Artillery Sculpture Group

The city of Philadelphia donated the Artillery Group on the Lincoln Tomb's northwest side. It is believed to be a scene which sculptor Larkin Mead witnessed on the battlefield.

Enemy fire has dismounted the gun, but the officer in charge escapes unhurt. A wounded soldier lies on one side, while another raises his hands in alarm.
