The Best Management Practices, Waste Reduction Construction and Demolition Debris - A Guide for Building, Construction and Environmental Professionals that was produced by the Iowa Waste Exchange with assistance provided by the Iowa Department of Economic Development’s graphics team is now available online.  You may download the free guide at the Iowa Waste Reduction Center’s website at  www.iwrc.org/downloads and click on Best Management Practices, Waste Reduction Construction and Demolition Debris - A Guide for Building, Construction and Environmental Professionals.

Construction and Demolition Recycling —Success is Just A Click Away

The manual was produced in conjunction with the highly successful 2008 Iowa Environmental Regulatory Workshops for the Construction & Demolition Industry and Building Code Officials, which despite winter challenges was held at six venues and attended by 382 participants across Iowa.

The guide is intended to lay the foundation for successful waste reduction initiatives for new construction, renovation and demolition projects.  As more and more companies are searching for green alternatives in their approaches to debris management this manual offers step-by-step instructions, sample forms, salvage, construction, demolition markets and helpful checklists.  It is our  intent to keep the manual current.  If you have an innovative idea or information that you believe should be included in future updates of this manual please email them to Shelly Codner at scodner@region12cog.org or Jan Loyson at jan.loyson@iowalifechanging.com.  If you need additional waste reduction and recycling assistance, please contact your Area Resource Specialist.

Original support for the print version of The  Construction and Demolition Best Management Practices Manual was funded by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Pollution Prevention Services and the Iowa Department of Economic Development.
