I call this dog Clay Hill Black Shi. She is UKC and PKC registered. As you can see on her papers, she is a really well bred hound. I bought her a couple of years back. I owned a litter mate to her that was a super nice hound. After his tragic death I almost quit hunting. But after two or three months and still having Duke I got back to hunting again. When I got the chance to hunt this female, after a couple of nights, I had to have her. She didn't quite match up to her brother, but, she had a lot of the qualities that I liked in him and a lot of her own. She is a nice hound. I have only had her in a few hunts, but this is what I have seen. When you turn her loose in a cast she is gone. She goes hard, gets struck, and gets treed and stays treed. I haven't seen her be run off nor be mean in any way. Shi weighs in at about 55 pounds and is really put together. She runs a track with a bawl and a chop, locates with a long dieing bawl and roles right into a hard chop. When I got her she had a super loud mouth. I tied her up and made a big mistake. I let her bark and blow out her mouth. She never got all of it back, although she is still plenty loud. This was a mistake I hope never to make again, although, sometimes it is hard to prevent. This spring and summer I hope to get this female into a few hunts. The last few hunts I had her in, it was hot and I pulled her out before we both had heat stroke. The one hunt I did finish with her, she won her cast and split the money.
